Therapist Search Report

Another unexciting week, so let's talk about something specific: Pinterest! And how it actually ranks relatively high for therapists! This edition of the report was published on January 19th, 2026

Pinterest Profiles for Therapists?

January 19th, 2026 Edition

I won't bore you with reiterating the usual updates in this report. (Feel free to read past editions!) Instead, here's the one thing that stood out:

Pinterest.

I honestly would not have guessed Pinterest to rank so high for therapists, but here it is! And it had a slight uptick. I'll dig into what you can do with this information later in the report.

Domain Presence in the Top 10

This is a breakdown of the most common domains found at each search result position. The first 10 positions are the most critical, as they appear on the first page, so this breaks it down for positions 1 through 10.

Let's talk about how this information about Pinterest and how it ranks relatively high for therapists (all things considered), can be used to your advantage. Hopefully you can follow my logic and strategy:

  • Pinterest is a powerful domain. It's been around for a while, and so while there is a lot of unimportant pages associated with Pinterest (no offense to those finding recipes and "the best color of 2026"!), a page that exists on the Pinterest domain will rank when people search for words on that page.
  • When people search for therapists, these various websites win out because there's just not much published about individual therapists. It's less about the power of these other random websites and directories, and more about the void that exists -- that they then fill in with their questionable therapist profile pages.
  • A Pinterest account is totally free.
  • A Pinterest page that is named with your name + the word "therapist"? I bet that will rank quite high for you.
  • You don't need to post much content. Maybe post a few inspirational or insightful images. Maybe a few worksheets. The important thing is to create that primary profile page.
  • Make sure you link to your main professional website from your Pinterest page.

That's it!

It's free. It's easy. And you'll lock in one of those top spots when clients search for your name on Google (or other search engines).

Thanks for reading! (Feel free to pin this on Pinterest!)

Note: These statistics are intended to highlight broad patterns we've observed when searching for therapists by name. While we use a consistent methodology and a reasonable sample size, the results are not exhaustive. They may not reflect every search variation, every geographic region, or every change in search engine algorithms. This information should be viewed as a general snapshot, not a definitive or complete record. (And if you have ideas on how we can make our analysis even better, we'd love to hear them!)

Quill Therapy Solutions

About Quill: Quill helps therapists write clear, accurate, and professional therapy progress notes in less time. You record (or write) a brief session summary, and Quill formats those important details into a well-written note -- so you can focus on your clients, not your paperwork. And importantly, Quill does not record therapy sessions, so you don't have to sacrifice your ethics or your clients' privacy.

Also, therapists can now create their own custom documentation templates -- so whether it's an intake assessment, custom progress note format, or literally any other type of documentation, Quill has you covered.
