Therapist Search Report

It was only a matter of time before a new therapist directory popped up. And here we are, for better or worse, with Therapy Solutions for Kids/Online-Therapist.org. This edition of the report was published on November 17th, 2025

A New Therapist Directory Has Emerged

November 17th, 2025 Edition

This week’s edition brings an unexpected addition to the rankings -- Therapy Solutions for Kids. It hadn’t appeared at all in previous reports, yet it now enters the list with a solid popularity score of 12. Even more curious, the domain currently redirects to Online-Therapist.org, which appears to host over 27,000 therapist profiles. (More on the domain change a few paragraphs down.)

Many of these listings include the disclaimer:

“This listing is provided for informational purposes only. [NAME] is an independent professional not affiliated with this website. If you are the practitioner and would like to claim or remove this profile, please contact us.”

However, some profiles on the site don’t include this notice, implying that those practitioners may be affiliated or have claimed their listings. It’s not clear what the ratio is between unclaimed and claimed profiles.

And so...

I decided to do a deeper dive on this one:

  • The "about" page on Online-Therapist.org acknowledges the name change: "Welcome to online Therapist, your trusted online destination for therapy services and mental health support across the United States. Formerly known as (TS4K), we’ve rebranded to better serve individuals of all age groups with fast and effective counseling solutions."

  • This made me look further back at what used to be at this new domain (via Archive.org), and the most recent archive is from March 2025. At that time, the Online-Therapist.org domain was used by an individual Licensed Clinical Psychologist. So that's interesting.

  • So then I looked for the archive of TherapySolutionsForKids.com... And as far as I can tell, they've had around 27,000 profiles since at least April 2025. (There's an archive from April 2025, but beyond that, it's a bit harder to decipher, as the archives are few and far between. If you're unfamiliar with Archive.org, it creates snapshots of the entire internet, but it can only create those snapshots every so often, and less popular sites are captured less frequently.)

  • This suggests that this directory has been around for a while, but it just recently popped up this week (as we literally had no record of it previously). My unproven hypothesis is that something with their domain transition boosted their SEO, and now they're suddenly ranking higher than they had previously... They had these profiles, but they weren't showing up, not even in the top 100, prior to this week!

So anyway, this directory is definitely something we all should be keeping an eye on... And if you're a therapist, check if you're listed there without your permission!

At the top of the charts, the usual leaders remain steady. LinkedIn continues its reign at the top, followed by Psychology Today and Facebook.

But this week’s most notable domain movement came from Therapy Solutions for Kids, which emerged from nowhere to make a noticeable impact. And with an average position of #17, it's even showing up on the second page of search results, which is... quite good, meaning folks are more likely to click on it.

While most domains moved only slightly this week, the debut of Therapy Solutions for Kids stands out as the biggest change. (And we'll be tweaking this chart to start representing websites that literally had no data in previous weeks, as is the case with TS4K.)

Mind Diagnostics and Therapy Finder also rose modestly, while Instagram slipped by two full points.

It’s worth watching how Therapy Solutions for Kids (or Online-Therapist.org) evolves over the next few weeks. Its immediate visibility suggests strong technical optimization or an existing network of backlinks. The fact that it redirects to Online-Therapist.org makes me think that we'll eventually see these domains swap places in our report.

Domain Presence in the Top 10

Psychology Today still holds nearly half of the #1 search positions, with LinkedIn maintaining a strong presence in the middle of page one. While this is the most colorful chart on the page, it really sees the least amount of movement week-to-week.

This week’s surprise debut of Therapy Solutions for Kids (now redirecting to Online-Therapist.org) is a reminder that new directories will keep popping up. The data is out there, the barrier to entry is low, and even a freshly launched domain can climb high in the rankings if it’s loaded with thousands of therapist profiles.

So what can you do about it? Two things:

  1. Keep track of how your professional identity appears online. Monitor your top search results and flag any listings using your information without permission. We offer a free service that does this automatically (no strings attached!) if you’d like to use it: https://therapistsearchreport.com/personal-report/.
  2. Keep creating and controlling your own pages. Your professional website, your LinkedIn profile, and your chosen directories should tell your story. Don't let someone else's website do it (poorly) for you.

I’m not a sports guy, so bear with me... But #2 is the equivalent of playing offense instead of defense (I think?) when it comes to your professional identity online. The directories will keep coming -- but if you’re already visible, you’ll stay ahead of them.

If you have any more information on this latest finding, please let me know!

Thanks for reading.

Note: These statistics are intended to highlight broad patterns we've observed when searching for therapists by name. While we use a consistent methodology and a reasonable sample size, the results are not exhaustive. They may not reflect every search variation, every geographic region, or every change in search engine algorithms. This information should be viewed as a general snapshot, not a definitive or complete record. (And if you have ideas on how we can make our analysis even better, we'd love to hear them!)

Quill Therapy Solutions

About Quill: Quill helps therapists write clear, accurate, and professional therapy progress notes in less time. You record (or write) a brief session summary, and Quill formats those important details into a well-written note -- so you can focus on your clients, not your paperwork. And importantly, Quill does not record therapy sessions, so you don't have to sacrifice your ethics or your clients' privacy.

Also, therapists can now create their own custom documentation templates -- so whether it's an intake assessment, custom progress note format, or literally any other type of documentation, Quill has you covered.
