Therapist Search Report

This week was pretty tame, with the exception of Therapy Finder, which shot up in the rankings. This edition of the report was published on October 27th, 2025

Finding Therapists, One Search at a Time

October 27th, 2025 Edition

Another week, another search report! And this one was published slightly delayed... (You can blame my birthday!) There was not a ton of movement, with one exception:

Therapy Finder is now on the therapist search result scene! It's a directory run by SimplePractice, and wow, it really shot up in both popularity and rankings!

In the coming weeks, we'll keep an eye on Therapy Finder and if it continues to perform this way. My guess is that it has staying power. It's run by a legitimate company (SimplePractice), so that is good.

Facebook dropping a bit isn't a huge deal, as social networks have lots of ups and downs. LinkedIn and PsychologyToday remain super stable at the top #1 and #2 positions.

It'll be interesting to see how websites like Datanyze perform in the coming weeks and months. They're part of a general category of websites that aren't specifically therapist directories, but rather, general contact information websites. Basically, if you work in sales, you need to get ahold of people, so websites like this one aggregate contact information of potential buyers. And hey, those potential buyers can sometimes be therapists, which is why this domain is now showing up in this report.

Let's give Yahoo a round of applause for making an appearance in 2025! Good for them.

That's a wrap, and I'm sorry for the delay in getting this report published this week.

If you're a therapist concerned about how you're showing up in search results, remember:

Focus on what you can control. Get your own website and domain. Sign up for legitimate directories. Report and have your profile removed from the other directories. Set up social accounts for your professional self. These are all simple steps, but you'll control that first page of search results if you invest a few hours of time!

See you next week,

Jon

Note: These statistics are intended to highlight broad patterns we've observed when searching for therapists by name. While we use a consistent methodology and a reasonable sample size, the results are not exhaustive. They may not reflect every search variation, every geographic region, or every change in search engine algorithms. This information should be viewed as a general snapshot, not a definitive or complete record. (And if you have ideas on how we can make our analysis even better, we'd love to hear them!)

Quill Therapy Solutions

About Quill: Quill helps therapists write clear, accurate, and professional therapy progress notes in less time. You record (or write) a brief session summary, and Quill formats those important details into a well-written note -- so you can focus on your clients, not your paperwork. And importantly, Quill does not record therapy sessions, so you don't have to sacrifice your ethics or your clients' privacy.

Also, therapists can now create their own custom documentation templates -- so whether it's an intake assessment, custom progress note format, or literally any other type of documentation, Quill has you covered.
